Rhythm on the River

Please Join us Friday night for my pottery student's art show which is coinciding with the first Rhythm on the Rivers celebration. There will be live music on Front Street and of course complimentary beverages at the studio. Cafe' JoJo's will also have a cash bar in the alley. My students have been turning out some incredible work. I will take pictures at the show and post on this blog, as I am very proud of them!

Me painting the painter

Someone took a shot of the two of us painters painting. Thought it might be interesting to see. Can you feel the pressure?!

Spider Lily - $100.00

15X11 watercolor on cotton paper. With a few minutes left of the quick draw I decided to whip out a painting of some flowers in the special garden. Once again, I like what has happened here with the pressure of time.

Pat - SOLD

11X15 watercolor on cotton paper. This is from the quick draw at the Shadows on the Teche. I decided to paint a painter painting the Shadows, as I love painting people. I like the energy I feel from, I guess the PRESSURE of time. Since only a few painters showed up, they decided not to hold a judging. It was fun & I met some interesting people.

Old Post Office - SOLD

8X8 watercolor on cotton paper. I've always admired this old building. Can't help but want to paint it again and again as I sit out and watch the sun go down on the new deck.

Two Trees - $150.00

11X15 watercolor on cotton paper. This one was done on the ride back from Texas. The bumpy ride actually helped to make the trees look more natural. I'm thinking I would like to make this one larger.

Copper Rocks

Just wanted to show a picture of the copper rocks throughout Copper Breaks Park.

Copper Breaks - $100.00

11X15 watercolor on cotton paper. Painted at Copper Breaks Park where the soil has bluish green breaks of copper throughout the hills. Very interesting!

Bridget - $100.00

11X15 watercolor on cotton paper. This would be my big sister "Bridget" who sat for me one early morning. If I'm not mistaken it would be the morning of her daughters wedding. Mom thinks it looks like me... I don't think I look like that. Do we ever really know how our own selves look?

April - SOLD

11X15 watercolor on cotton paper. The building of deck (it's done!) and then a trip to Texas kept me from posting to my blog. Of course, I love painting people, but... Wait till you see the inspiration that came from the wonderful landscapes I saw driving through Texas. My mind is spinning with new images.
