Everyone seems to be enjoying the flowers. More of you have voted and it is still a run off between flowers and birds. "Winter Birds" remains the most looked at painting on the blog. "Pink Toed Pigeons" is second. But, within a couple of days, "One Stem 1" has jumped to fifth place. It is very interesting that within just over a month of posting almost 1000 sets of eyes have looked at my paintings, that would not have seen them without the blog. Everybody go click on a painting and lets see if we can hit that 1000 today! Thank you all for looking and thanks for the comments. Looking forward to March!

22.5 X 30" Mixed Medium on 100% cotton paper. This posting may look different as my regular blog posting was not working! and we almost didn't get this posted today. It was 100% unanimous on the voting that I should paint another bird, so I did. Just so happened to make a stop at WalMart this weekend and got shots of these wonderful black birds.. some were just screaming and screaming.(I feel like this type is screaming and screaming) I would like to do one like that as well. Hope the bloggers back to work in the morning. I will delete and repost this image.. doing smaller pieces throughout the week, as I have a pretty big job in house. LilGator2 - $50.00
3.5" X 12" Oil on Board. Well electric Gator certaintly got a huge response! I guess I have to throw in something like that to keep me and you both from getting bored. So many exclamations!!!! Can you see how LilGator1 influenced and led to Electric Gator?(I don't know what happened I kind of went nuts.) LilGator 2 will also have a big gator following. But, I will pull in the reins a bit. Kind of the story of my life.. from wild to conservative... back and forth... not that I would call any of it.. conservative really. Hey! Check out my polls on the blog. I've been working on these small test paintings. I do this to work out subject matter, color, composition for larger paintings. I also like to switch mediums from time to time for inspiration. It just keeps my work from getting stale. These oils are very hard to photograph due to the reflection of the paint. Bigger ones coming soon.

Mardi Gras Lady #9 - SOLD
15 X 22 - Mixed media on 100% cotton paper. I painted this wonderful Mardi Gras Lady and two days later... she was gone! My efforts paid off at the New Orleans By Water Art Market. Met lots of wonderful people and sold some art. I honestly have this desire to kiss every painting as it is sold. But... I have never been more happy to let go of my art than I was to the New Orleans crowd. They seem so eager to have happy color on there walls again. It was very heart warming. 22.5 X 30" - Mixed Media on 100% cotton paper. These pink toed, orange eyed fellows fly down to greet me every morning when my truck drives up. The next time you see a pigeon look again and notice the fascinating colors flickering off of them and how wonderful that they were born with pink toes!

WinterBirds - SOLD
22.5 X 30" Mixed Medium on 100% cotton paper. I can hear these little birds chirping in the trees of the WalMart parking lot. The sun was going down and the sky was turquoise blue with specs of orange, and green leaves with what was left over from fall. The birds almost blending in. I cannot tell you how it moves me to see and hear the birds at dusk when they are all finding a save harbor for the night.. gathering together in the trees.. calling to one another.

Littlefish7 - SOLD
I did a couple of little fish to get me through the weekend. Littlefish 1-6 were sold as a series and hung all together to take up a nice size space in one lucky person's living room. I'll try to get pictures of that. This fish is about 8.5" X 11" and is matted and framed in a 12" X 15" frame (not included), just to show it off a little. This, like most everything I am doing these days.. is mixed medium on 100% cotton paper. I absolutely love painting fish... kind of weird... I know. This is my Quaker parrot. His name is Rufus. He is 22.5 X 30" (the painting... not the bird). I posted Rufus because I am currently switching gears from the Mardi Gras mode... had enough of that! to a series of funky fish. You've seen one of my earlier ones. MardiGrasLady#6 - SOLD
Parade Day! Wanted to get this posted early... as this will be a very long partying day. Starts with a breakfast and mimosa's at 10:00. Champagne toasting soon after. A lovely ride on the back roads in the float with the ladies all tucked away... laughing and chit chatting... and then the throwing begins! Immediately following the parade is the parade dance at the auditorium... which usually last into the wee hours of the morning. Hope your day will be as fun as mine!

Mardi Gras Throw #1 - SOLD
I had a fantastic time creating this blue Mardi Gras Lady. She is 12" X 36" not including the frame. She is wearing blue because our float costumes are blue this year. I will posting a smaller $100.00 painting a little later. busy.. busy... another parade tonight... bead loading party all day tomorrow, and the float pulls out on Sunday!
