Bridget's Yard - $25.00

5.5X8.5" watercolor on acid free paper. Bridget, What is it? This was a sketch done of the blue flowers growing wild in your front yard. You may notice I used this one to blow up and hang in one of my furniture paintings. I did paint three new flowers that are 12"X12" on canvas that I'll be posting over the next few days. They are on display at the art guild gallery on Everett Street in Morgan City. Once again, I love the simplicity of this one. That it is not over done. ps. Come by the studio for Shrimp and Petroleum. I will be handpainting tshirts!

Magnolia Pod - $25.00

5X7" watercolor card on acid free paper. The magnolia's have bloomed and dropped and left these beautiful pods behind. Soon there will be bright red seeds everywhere.

Wild Zinnia VI - $25.00

5X7" watercolor card on acid free paper. I personally love this one. It's kind of amazing that I don't really get tired of looking at those zinnias. I am starting to really seek out the ones that aren't purple. I got a shot of a red one this morning. I wonder if it's too late to throw more seeds in the ground? I'm tempted.

Student Work

This blog is dedicated to my art students whom can brighten up any day. They are trying there hand at monoprinting and doing a fantastic job. The name "monoprint" is called that because you typically can only get one print transfer with the process. I like to wash the remaining ink down and get a second but different print from the image. Though, each is very individualistic and unique and often times the second is better. Teaching is rewarding in so many ways. First is the thrill of seeing what a young person can do and watching as they amaze themselves. Secondly, it forces me, the teacher to rethink what I already know, how I acquired the information and how to translate it. And thirdly, often times there is a rebirth within me of a medium that had been put aside for some time. Like revisiting an old friend.

New Earrings - $20.00 ea.

Most of my favorite earrings sold for Christmas. The showroom was in much need of replenishing. The following earrings are made with handblown glass and are actually hollow. These hollow beads are my all time favorite beads. I made a necklace out of some hollow beads years ago and loved it so much I refused to sell. I am planning on starting a line with these beads. This is just the beginning. Someone walked in the studio this morning and snatched up a pair as I was photographing. Should have got a picture.

Other pottery just out the kiln.

The incredible amazing green dot bowl!!

14" diameter. I don't know about you, but I think sometimes simple is so sweet. I love this bowl! I'm thinking I may have to just take this puppy home. (Of course, if you offer me a nice price, I may just let it go.) I've got this dot thing happening in my head and in my art. I'm thinking of starting a whole line of dot bowls, platters, and cups. Again.. this is just the beginning. Narrowing it down to greens, blues, yellows, and orange.

New Pendants! $20.00 each

Always my biggest seller at Christmas time. Fluer de li's, birds, fall leaves, and fish pendants. Every single pendant is hand made by me. They go through four firings to get them looking like they were dug up from an old treasure chest. The final firing is either 22 karat gold or platinum glaze to give them the rich look of true treasure coins. The pendants with the pearl center is an actual fresh water coin pearl. All pendants sell for $20.00 and make great Christmas gifts! The following post will be the trays lined up so you can pick the one you want. It is best to come in the studio to feel, hold, and see there true beauty.

Sgraffito Platters

Long time no see. I've been very busy creating all sorts of wonderful things. The sale at Nicholls was a success and loads of fun! If you've never been, make an effort next year. It is the place to get all your Christmas shopping done all at once. It has become my marker of the beginning of the season. Of course I sold tons of Fluer de li jewelry. (I'll have to post some for you to see and buy) But, also moved along some pottery, too. Below you will find one of my newest inspirations. I've taken ideas from my sketch books and created these one of a kind platters. These are sold, but I wanted to share anyway. And, I will be posting more platters tomorrow. Hope you're having a great Holiday season!
