Grande Antique Zinnia - $800.00
48"X48" Acrylic on Canvas. I got to paint this week! This painting was inspired by one of my smaller watercolors of the antique zinnias. I really had a great time painting this. Heading to True Colors Gallery in Houma this afternoon for an artist event where I will be featuring the Grande Zinnia. For all of you who have not been to True Colors Gallery, take some time before the Holidays and check out all of the art work featured by Louisiana artist.

uh oh.
I found MORE boxes of watercolor paper card stock. Quantity 90 more cards... I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions as far as subject matter goes? I may be all flowered out. Unless, of course I have some sort of break through here...
what was I thinking?

Columbine Flower I - $800.00
48"X48" Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas. This is the first painting done for the first winner of the "buy me five canvases, get one back with a painting" promotion I had a few weeks ago. The title and winner are to remain anonymous for now. Do I see a gift in the future? I want to thank the first four takers of the offer. I have seventeen canvases awaiting my painting and I'm committed to painting each and every one of them. What will I paint? is yet to be determined. For now, I paint your flowers and it is a great exercise in translating my small imagery to really large. After the fourth I'm sure I'll be inspired for what is next.
This is to give you an idea of the scale of this painting.
Drying/hanging in the showroom window. Sure looks good on that red wall. I may have to paint four more flowers just to put in these windows!

Organic Soap - $4 bar
Just wanted everyone to know I've got organic soap in the studio. You may not think of it as art, but I sure do! This is my favorite soap which is more than just natural, it is organic natural. Meaning that the oils made to use it were made from organically grown products. And, I mean, it is delish! I've been wanting to stock this soap for some time. They were to originally sell for $5 bar, but I got in on a sale and I'm passing these savings to you. So, far now with this shipment they are $4 bar. I've got two flavors. Lavender, of course! and, I bought this peppermint mix on a whim with no regrets. It smells so fabulous, and makes your body ting all over when using. Come on in and get a bar while supply last!

Purple Pansy - $25.00
5X7" watercolor card on acid free paper. I suppose I'm getting the winter flowers on my mind. I am Painting some larger paintings on 11X17" canvas board for test. I'll be posting some of these soon. Forcing myself to go from thin to thick paint and trying to find the point. Perhaps it is a yearning to somehow combine the watercolor and acrylic.

Stormy Flower - $25.00
5X7" watercolor card, acid free paper. Hey everyone. Trying to get back into the swing of things since the rained out festival. I think I pushed myself too hard, because I'm not very inspired to paint more flowers. Perhaps this little cool spell is making me want to paint other things instead. Was thinking of starting on the daily news events. I always love doing them, though they are not big sellers. I've also had my head tucked away in the dreamweaver book learning more about creating websites. ahg! I might have to paint flowers just to get my mood back after that. Hope everyone had a great labor day weekend. Isn't the weather just fabulous since the storm?

Everett Street Art Show - SOLD. SOLD. SOLD. SOLD.
For the festival show I put my one-a-day watercolor practice to use, and painted three flowers in the style that has evolved. I translated the style from the watercolor to acrylic on canvas. I think it worked out well! and was just as much fun. After the festival, I may start using this acrylic on canvas style for my one-a-day's. Someone special snatched all three up. I am glad they will be hanging together in someone's home.

Shrimp and Petroleum T-shirts - Cease and desist!
As much as I researched and really tried not to use any trademarked infringements with the Shrimp and Petroleum Festival, I still received an official cease and desist notification. So, If you received a shirt from me - burn it! Evidently I cannot use the word... shrimp with the word petroleum... together anywhere. Rather than have to deal with any legalities, I thought it would be easier to come up with something different altogether. From here on out my t-shirts will say Shrimp Festoleum! So, if you're in a partying mood, stop on by the festoleum! And, pick up your festoleum shirt! They're still cool... and my airbrushing is only getting better. See you at the festoleum!!

Airbrushed Shrimp and Petroleum T-shirts! $15.00
I am hand airbrushing the shirts this year. So many people loved the martini glass last year and suggested I do a shirt with a different drink/glass. So, I decided by airbrushing each one I can switch out the glass with whatever drink you like best! Order your favorite one today. Specify size and drink wanted. I will only be doing 100 of these. So order while before the shirts run out.

Bridget's Yard - $25.00
5.5X8.5" watercolor on acid free paper. Bridget, What is it? This was a sketch done of the blue flowers growing wild in your front yard. You may notice I used this one to blow up and hang in one of my furniture paintings. I did paint three new flowers that are 12"X12" on canvas that I'll be posting over the next few days. They are on display at the art guild gallery on Everett Street in Morgan City. Once again, I love the simplicity of this one. That it is not over done. ps. Come by the studio for Shrimp and Petroleum. I will be handpainting tshirts!

Poppy Flower Card - $25.00
5X7" watercolor card on acid free paper. It's no secret. I love poppy's. I love the graphic-ness of them. The black dots against the firey red and then the burst of yellow. I could paint poppy's for a very long time, too. I should probably make a trip to Georgetown during poppy season and get up close and personal to them.

whacky luke - $25.00
5X7" watercolor card on acid free paper. I suppose I got bored again with painting flowers and ventured out painting other things. It's a bit crazy and fun. and all in the name of experimentation. I actually made a trip to Michael's for the back to school sale and may be taking this painting a day to a new place. Got new tools for experimenting.

Wild bunny - $25.00
5X7" watercolor card on acid free paper. I decided to paint my other animals. This is my wild bunny, who I really don't see very much, as he is always scurrying around the cage when I go to feed him. I find it a bit amazing that the wildness and fear of me doesn't ever subside no matter what treats I bring him. He is truly wild. Someday, I may bring him to the farm and let him loose, as I have seen other wild bunnys at the farm.

Wild Zinnia VI - $25.00
5X7" watercolor card on acid free paper. I personally love this one. It's kind of amazing that I don't really get tired of looking at those zinnias. I am starting to really seek out the ones that aren't purple. I got a shot of a red one this morning. I wonder if it's too late to throw more seeds in the ground? I'm tempted.

Wild Zinnia V - $25.00
5X7" watercolor card on acid free paper. Lov'in the new direction with the patterned backgrounds. Most of my zinnias in my garden are purple. I'm going to keep my eye out for a different colored one when it pops up and paint it. I do have a wonderful painting started of the okra flower. Have a happy Friday!

Mr. Rufus - SOLD
5X7" watercolor card on acid free paper. I kind of went off kilter and decided to paint a bird. My bird. Mr. Rufus. There's actually a bit of a bird theme going around the studio. No, I'm not talking about Rufus. But, birds in general. I created these tiny paintings of birds a year or so ago to place into jewelry. Little 1" paintings. It was fun and they are so incredibly cute. These tiny paintings hung around in a box on my drafting table for a long time. Pretty much looked like this Rufus painting but, in all different colors and poses. I'll need to take a picture. Anyway, Muriel shows up a year later with these tiny birds someone gave her from, I think, India. And, my brain had a flash. Look! and I pulled out my paintings. It's amazing how in art and in life common themes seem to reoccur. I will take pictures. It's just a neat coincidence.

Lavender - SOLD
5X7" watercolor on acid free paper. I almost forgot to post today. Very busy! Lavender is one of my favorite plants and favorite smells. I have many lavender plants hanging around my garden. Two different varieties. Just put your face right smack in the middle and run your hands over the lavender towards your nose... you will feel instant peace. No kidding. I also keep a bottle of essential oil around and add a few drops to my tub. mmmmm good.

Purple Flower - SOLD
5X7" watercolor on acid free paper. I'm not quite sure what this flower is. I came across a bunch of pictures I took... of course I've taken hundreds... I don't always know what they are. They are all beautiful in there own way. I noticed one of my okra plants had a beautiful bloom on it this weekend. But, I had forgotten my camera and it was way too hot to sit outside painting. The next day the bloom was gone. I'm keeping my eyes out for another one and will share when it happens.

Zinnias - NFS
8.5X11" Ink on paper. (From my sketchbook). Woke up this morning and while my cup of coffee was brewing, ran outside and cut a new bunch of zinnias. It's a happy event. I cut the zinnias as long as I can and then take off all the bottom leaves and give to my wild bunny. He gets so excited to have some fresh greenery in his cage. Put the flowers in a hand thrown wood fired vase and then relaxed sipping coffee and sketching my new present to myself. Everybody should have a zinnia garden! And everybody should find ways to give themselves little free gifts.

Water Lily Card - $25.00
7"X5" watercolor on acid free paper. It's the craziest thing. But, just doing a small painting a day gets the creative side of my brain stirring. I was tossing and turning last night with images of paintings that actually have nothing to do with flowers or watercolors. Watching the colors flow from my hand through the paint brush and onto the paper... just wakes up my mind.
