Grande Fleur #1 - $500.00
45" X 45" Mixed Medium on 100% cotton paper. Well, here it is. My biggest Flower in a Square! I decided to tackle this big flower with the 14 foot ceilings of the old bank building... aka "Mason de Fleur".. in mind. I've got two huge walls that I figured just have to have huge flowers on them. What a fantastic time I had painting this big. I'm ready to do another.

Night Blooming Ceris - $200.00
22" X 22" Mixed Medium on 100% cotton paper. Hello everyone. I'm back with a new painting and new granite counter tops. This night blooming ceris was destined to be painted as I was in two gardens in one week where the conversation was started about this plant that only blooms in the wee hours of the morning (3am I'm told). I have not seen it bloom in person. But, the next day this particular one bloomed in Biddy's garden and she shared her photos with me. Gotta love Biddy's garden.

Rooster - $100.00
10"X14" Mixed Medium on 100% cotton paper. This was a fun and exciting way to end the week. I'm heading to "Mason de Fluer" a.k.a "the bank" and "my home" to put in counter tops and bathroom floors. I will not be in the studio for the next three days, so you won't be seeing a post till Tuesday. Have a great long weekend! I will make it up to you next week. Adios!

Bird Dance - NFS - no longer exist
20" X 20" - Acrylic on Canvas. Hey! Got a lot of grief today from you guys for my sketch of "Bird Dance". (I truelly do appreciate the imput) I knew it was leading up to something. Could feel it in my bones. I actually love the direction this is going. I must be able to explore what I'm doing with paint without being afraid of making a mistake. I feel like if I only paint what is safe... all the time... then the journey and exploration is over... and that just wouldn't be any fun. At all!

Golden Trout - SOLD
Wild Carp - SOLD
44.5" X 12" - Mixed Medium on 100% cotton paper. This and the next fish are huge. I forgot to chop off the end of the paper. So if you notice they are almost a foot longer than my usual big fish. Where is my head? I'm just your typical fisherman telling a fishing story. Each time the story is told my arms goes out just a little further... and the fish just keeps getting bigger and bigger. You've got to imagine... 44.5 inches. Or! come see me in the morning at By Water and see for yourself.

Mackeral - SOLD
36" X 12" Mixed Medium on 100% cotton paper. Hey! This is the first painting on my new big paper. And let me tell you... the paper is a different kind of animal. Sweet. Very Sweet. I love it. The water just flows in a different way... and the paper is very thick. Feels substancial. I get a lot of joy in painting fish. Strange phenomena.

Alligator #2 - $100.00
8" X 11" Mixed Medium on 100% cotton paper. I don't know what's going on here... Came in to paint another dog... or a bird... or something. and I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I suppose I'm just bored. So isn't this what doing a painting a day is suppose to do? Make you push through to something else. I didn't want to paint realistically... sorry guys... for those of you who called and were so excited to see something recognizable. I was in one of those mischievious moods where I didn't want to paint in the lines. Just wanted to bam! put it out there. So... this is what I did. And... I like it. Hope you do, too.

New Orleans Row House #1 -SOLD
Thursday, May 1, 2008
Yellow Labrador
4"X6" Acrylic on 100% cotton paper. He's a real sweety. It is sometimes hard to get something painted when you're in the middle of something else. I've started doing sketchs for my New Orleans row house block print series. While I'm spending the time with these houses on my mind. I may paint a few of them. Thanks for all the input on the Terrier paintings. It seems that different people liked different ones. There was not one that was a favorite.
